I write about all aspects of food - cooking, culture, recipes, and more - for Examiner.com. I also keep my own blog, Industrial Omelet, where I write about sustainability and consumer issues surrounding food.

I believe strongly that food is more than just eating. With so many cooks stirring the pot, our lives are profoundly affected by the decisions and actions of big  agribusiness and government on food and agricultural policy. As consumers, we need to be better informed about from where our food comes; we must make increasingly important decisions about what we eat and why.

Healthy, nutritious food should be available to everyone, not simply the elites who can afford to buy "artisan" products from overpriced food boutiques. Good food is a basic human need, not a luxury.
